At Playhouse Early Education and Care we provide professional qualified educators, who plan and implement an effective program developed to meet each child’s individual needs. We focus on children’s interests to further their development and build trusting relationships with their educators. When a child is interested and engaged, they are more likely to learn, grow and develop.
The programming cycle is constantly evolving through critical reflection and evaluation
Our curriculum is based on the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework (VEYLF)
Our Service complies with the Australian Government’s National Quality Framework (NQF) which consists of the legislative framework of the Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations, the National Quality Standard and a rigorous assessment and rating system.
We regularly self-assess our practices against the National Quality Standard and strive for continuous improvement through our Quality Improvement Plan (QIP). The QIP assists our service to identify quality aspects of care we are already providing and assists in developing future goals for further improvement. Families are welcome to provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Sustainability in early childhood education is an important part of the services curriculum and is incorporated into our service each and every day. Creating natural environments and proving natural materials is one way our service supports sustainability. At Playhouse early Education and care we incorporate sustainable practices within the service in many ways including teaching the children about compost use, gardening care, reusing materials for art and craft and energy conservation.
We support and imbed the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle approach for sustainability
Our Service promotes healthy eating habits and provides delicious and nutritious food for your child each and every day. We provide a nutritionally balanced breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and supper prepared by our Onsight chef.
We follow the Australian Dietary Guidelines to ensure our meals are prepared to meet the dietary requirements for all children. Our menu is carefully planned and prepared by a qualified cook.
We cater for the dietary requirements of all children enrolled at our Service.
We believe that the environment acts as the valuable third teacher. The indoor environment at our service creates an atmosphere that is welcoming, inviting and engaging.
For the children it is an atmosphere where they can develop their skills and interests and become independent and confident learners. The overall learning environment creates a feeling of safety and comfort- a place where all children belong
Our Modern Indoor facilities are designed to provide a comfortable and safe environment where all children can grow, learn and develop.
The unstructured, flexible, open-ended and dynamic nature of our outdoor environments provide a level of unpredictability, and children’s engagement with the environment inherently involves a certain element of uncertainty or risk.
Through exploratory, challenging and risky play, children become familiar with their environment, its possibilities and boundaries, and with their own capabilities
We aim to ensure that all children and families receive a positive and informative enrolment and orientation process that meets their individual needs.
We strive to establish respectful and supportive relationships between families and the Service to promote positive outcomes for children whilst integrating and settling children into our service.
Our enrollment process is simple and easy, and we offer support and flexible scheduling options to meet your family's needs.
